چکیده

Learner reflection has been found important and valuable, especially in cognitively intensive tasks, such as learning programming. This paper presents, K-Assess, a programming education system that facilitates student self-evaluation and promotes learner reflection. It is built on top of an existing conventional programming teaching system by adding a pragmatic knowledge layer. Our evaluations show that K-Assess provides students a number of benefits in being able to identify strengths and weaknesses and they appreciate the learning values of these. The teacher exercise-authoring evaluation indicates that entering a new K-Assess exercise can be done within a relatively short time, even for a first time user of the teacher interface and addition of the knowledge layer adds only modest complexity to the task of authoring teaching material in the system.

OLMs offer potential for learner reflection and support to metacognitive skills such as self-assessment, in addition to improving learner model accuracy. This paper describes an evaluation ...

In both cases the result is a set of skills which is visualised by the Learner Kno...
